Coursework from independent or non-traditional online platforms may not be accepted and will be reviewed individually. Surgical Technology Minimum of an Associate Degree Foreign graduates must provide: Certified English translation of all required documents Credential evaluation verifying U.S. degree equivalency Important Disclosures At MCI, our programs are designed to be accelerated and rigorous, combining classroom instruction, lab training, and clinical experience. We provide resources, guidance, and support to help you succeed—but your personal effort and commitment are critical to your success. Job Placement: MCI cannot guarantee employment after graduation. We provide training and career guidance, but securing a job depends on your skills, professionalism, and effort. It may take six months or longer, and initial roles are often per-diem, temporary, or contract positions. Credentialing Exams: Success on certification or licensing exams cannot be guaranteed. Your results will depend on your own study habits, preparation, and dedication. Our History MCI was founded in February of 2006. The school formed an educational alliance with dedicated members of the community such as physicians, dentists, nurses, ultrasound sonographers, surgical technicians, medical assistants and medical billers and coders whose desire along with the dedicated school personnel is to support their community by educating and inspiring students. All theory and lab training is provided at school and all clinical externship training is provided by healthcare faculties who have demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching and as well as necessary credentials in their fields. Our School MCI provides an on-campus classrooms and work-simulated laboratory environment with program–appropriate equipment to further acquaint students with the health care atmosphere that they will encounter in their chosen field of employment specialty. Class size is limited to an average of ten to twenty students per instructor to maximize learning and personal attention. Lunchroom and lavatories are also available for students use. MCI is located at 901 West Park Ave, Ocean Township, NJ. School occupies approximately 9000 square feet on the second floor of the two story professional building in Cobblestone Village. The building is fully air conditioned with an elevator and it is environmentally tailored for educational purposes. Parking is available at the school parking lot and numerous varieties’ of eateries are also within walking distance. The facility meets the requirements for handicapped students. Financial Aid CONTACT US Financial Aid Information at MCI M CI is approved to participate in student financial assistance programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education (U.S. Department of Education). These programs include Federal Pell Grant and Federal Student Loans. School Code: 042075 Federal Pell Grant Federal Pell Grants are awarded to students by the federal government who attend college or career schools. These grants generally do not have to be repaid. Students must apply for the FAFSA to determine eligibility for the grant. How much can I receive? The award amount changes yearly. The current award year is 2024-2025 and the maximum grant award is $7,395. How do I apply? The federal government has created an online form, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for pell grant and student loans. The FAFSA will be needed to be completed every year that you are in school in order to stay eligible. Federal Student Loans The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program is the U.S. Department of Education’s loan program, where the federal government is your lender. There are four types of loans available: Direct Subsidized Loans: These loans are offered to eligible undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. They help cover the cost of higher education. The key benefit: the government pays the interest while you’re in school. Direct Unsubsidized Loans These loans are available to eligible undergraduate students, regardless of financial need. You are responsible for paying the interest on these loans while you're in school. Direct PLUS Loans These loans are available to parents of dependent undergraduate students. They help cover education expenses not already paid by other financial aid. Eligibility is not based on financial need, but a credit check is required. If the borrower has an adverse credit history, additional requirements may apply. Direct Consolidation Loans If you have multiple federal student loans, you can combine them into a single loan with a single loan servicer for easier management. Medical Assistant Program Description Certificate Program (52 Quarter Credits / 35 Weeks / 725 Clock Hours ) The program includes a well-balanced on-campus time for lectures and demonstrations and work-simulated lab which imitates a doctor's exam room, phlebotomy lab and EKG lab. The off-campus clinical externship module of the program is structured to include supervised hands-on training at a doctor's office, clinical or a health care center. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to s'it for the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Certified Medical Assistant examination and are awarded a Certificate of Completion. The program has applied for accreditation through the Accredited Bureau of Health Education Schools (ASHES). Once the program is granted approval, graduates will be eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examination. Start Dates April 2nd, 2026 June 19th, 2026 August 28th, 2026 November 6th, 2026 Program Goal To prepare the graduate to become skilled entry-level Medical Assistants providing both patient care and medical office support as multi-skilled health professionals with diverse duties in medical offices, hospitals, clinics and health care centers. Admission Requirements All candidates must be at least eighteen (18) years of age before enrolling. All candidates must have a valid government issued picture ID and a Social Security card. All candidates must possess at a minimum a High School Diploma (High School Transcripts showing graduation date), or copy of General Education Diploma (GED). Foreign graduates in addition must present certified English translation of required documents and evaluation confirming that the documents meet U.S. equivalency. All candidates must be interviewed by an admission's representative and/or program director to review and discuss the program and prerequisites needed for enrollment. All candidates must complete and sign pre-enrollment documents. All candidates must sign the Enrollment Agreement and pay the appropriate application/registration fees. Health Clearance and Immunizations, Cleared Criminal Background Check, Negative Drug Screening Results are required prior to the program acceptance. Program Objectives: Teaching courses in anatomy, physiology pharmacology, clinical procedures interpersonal skills, confidentiality, medical law and ethics, HIPPA, professional behavior, and patient interface as well as basic offices procedures and electronic record keeping ensuring competency. Providing clinical activities within on-campus work-stimulated laboratories that include electronic data entry and record keeping, assisting the physician in patient care resissnsibilities by recording medical histories, taking vital signs, preparing the patient for examination, assisting physician during patient examination and surgical procedures, collecting and issrforming various laboratory tests, preparing and administering medications, performing diagnostic procedures su. as EKGs and dressings and providing patient education to ensure patient compliance. Providing students with off-campus clinical externship experience that includes a supervise hands-on training (requiring competencies logs and evaluations) at the clinical sit(doctor’s offices, clinics, hospitals and healthcare centers). Prepare a knowledgeable entry-level professional with the technical abilities and work habits needed to succeed in a variety of health-care industries. At the completion of the program, the diligent student will be: Able to establish eligibility to test for Certified Medical Assistant credentialing exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Proficient in performing entry-level Medical Assistant tasks and responsibilities.
